Job Description:

blueRock Technologies is seeking a new member of our IT Team! We are searching for a friendly, customer-oriented Managed Services Network Engineer to provide front line services to the company’s ever-expanding client base. A candidate will work with clients to install, maintain, and troubleshoot various network and IT related elements in a skilled and professional manner. An engineer plays an active role in the development of our customer’s infrastructure strategy, architecture, service delivery standards and best practices. They also work in collaboration with other internal Managed Services team members as well as customer third party vendors.  The Managed Services Network Engineer will contribute to the overall operations of the organization's IT systems. This includes designing, implementing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly converged telecommunications networks that include voice, data, and video. They are responsible for the administration and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure and will provide mentoring for less experienced staff.   Job Responsibilities: 
  • Perform on-site evaluation and engineering for client network refreshes. 
  • Manage and maintain customer Network and Collaboration infrastructure daily. 
  • Perform baseline network administration tasks including but not limited to Configuration Management, Inventory Management, and Capacity Management. 
  • Perform incident management on wide variety of issues impacting Network and Collaboration infrastructure or that are result of failure in its operation. 
  • Performs adds, moves, and changes on Network and Collaboration infrastructure within expected SLAs. 
  • Actively contribute to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of the managed Network and Collaboration infrastructure. 
  • Build and maintain documentation for customer Network and Collaboration infrastructure. 
  • Perform periodic review of customer Network and Collaboration infrastructure, completing documentation and implementation of continuous improvement opportunities. 
  • Provide support and cross-training to both customer IT staff and internal team members on managed solutions to ensure resilient support model. 
  • Periodic travel for on-site assessment, installation and customer meetings as needed 
  • Escalation resource for the Service Desk. 
  • Installation and configuration of routing, switching, and wireless technologies (Cisco, Meraki, etc.). 
  • Drafting and solidifying client documentation, including network diagrams, assessment documentation, device configurations, and support procedures. 
  • Collaborate with other engineers on design, documentation, and implementation for solutions provided by blueRock. 
Job Requirements /Technical Skills: 
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco routing, switching, wireless and Meraki. 
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols. 
  • Strong background with operational administration of Network Management Systems. 
  • Strong knowledge of TCP, IPv4 and IPv6, and common protocol operations. 
  • Knowledge of stateful packet inspection, firewalls, VPN s and ACLs. 
  • Experience with RADIUS wireless authentication. 
  • Deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas is required: VPN (IPSec/SSL VPNs), Wireless (802.1a/b/g/n). 
  • Excellent analytical skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
