SITUATION
This BlueRock Client - a batch product manufacturing
company using ten servers and more than fifty
workstations - had grown beyond the ability of
individual generalist IT professionals to meet all of
their needs. |
 |
IT system instabilities were affecting revenues,
profits, employee happiness and growth.
The CFO was concerned that all of the knowledge of
their systems was in the head of one employee – who
could leave at any time.
The CEO was concerned that IT instability was
leading to quality concerns when servicing Customers
and that any resulting dissatisfaction was affecting
revenue growth and Customer retention rates.
The Client was running a mixed Novell and Windows
network with multiple business critical
applications.

 |
SOLUTION
The
Client outsourced their IT function to BlueRock
(including their IT staff) and BlueRock set about
performing our Infrastructure Taming service.
Once
completed BlueRock was able to identify individual
priorities in isolation. The Client now runs on a secure
Windows network with Windows 2003 servers.
The network backbone has been upgraded, key
communications hardware and servers have replaced and an
updated email system (Microsoft Exchange 2003) has been
implemented. |
 |
CRM, Accounting,
Manufacturing, remote access and phone system reporting
applications are all now functioning reliably, and a new
wireless barcode scanning system has been rolled out in
the factory and warehouse.
The Client
now
relies entirely on BlueRock for all of their IT
infrastructure maintenance, help desk and support issues.
BlueRock also partners with the Client in helping
plan for their future growth. Providing key
decision makers with the advice and alternative options
they need to ensure that they can continually plot their
course with each new development in their business. |
