SITUATION
This medium sized media company and automotive
supplier experienced a catastrophic equipment failure
that wiped out the SQL database their whole business
revolved around. Never happens at a convenient
time, this stuff. |
 |
The Client not only had to get back up and running
ASAP, but they had to identify what had contributed to
this crisis.
SOLUTION
BlueRock moved the remains of the data to its own SQL
servers and rebuilt the corrupted database. At the
same time consultants ensured that a new server was being built
and readied for installation.
Meanwhile the SQL database was hosted and made
available remotely to the Client's staff via Terminal
Services so that they could continue to run the business.
The data migration was planned and implemented once the
new server |
 |
was ready. Since that
initial response to a brand new Client's emergency,
BlueRock has been able to assist the Client in
identifying and implementing new business applications
that equip some key growth areas in the company.
The internal IT person has been reallocated to a
leadership role in the new technology driven areas of
the business, which are considered to be of strategic
importance.
BlueRock continues to provide all of the IT
infrastructure support and maintenance needs for the
Client and are now implementing a process of
systematically refreshing |
 |
core components of the
hardware and software infrastructure with the intention
of creating a secure and robust system that can rapidly
recover from the failure of any critical element.
This
style of outsourcing arrangement has allowed BlueRock to
support the existing internal IT resource as they
responsibly ramped up into their new responsibilities.
This successfully reduced the potential risks to the
Client's business continuity and has ensured that strong
workable relationships have been established in both
organizations. |
