SITUATION
A
multiple location Credit Union with 4 branches and a
large number of members was running their business with
6 servers and 60 workstations. They were
experiencing a slow and unstable network environment. This was frustrating employees and impacting
productivity.
|
 |
The financial industry is highly
competitive. The high levels of personal service
provided by Credit Unions have attracted large numbers
of members away from their traditional banking
providers.
The slow network environment and
the resultant effects on productivity and system
reliability were affecting the Credit Union's ability to
effectively serve their members.
SOLUTION
BlueRock went to work with our Infrastructure Taming
experience and initially identified a poorly performing
Novell network. It rapidly
became
evident that a network upgrade was necessary.
|
 |
BlueRock presented a solution that was tailored to both
the ongoing business needs and the immediate financial
objectives of the Credit Union.
A
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server platform was chosen to
replace the Novell network.
The
multiple location network now runs smoothly, enabling
the Credit Union to focus on their core business.
BlueRock continues to perform all the IT maintenance and
admin-istration (both onsite and remotely), thus reducing
the Credit Union's Total Cost of Ownership by re-placing
the need for full time IT staff. |
 |
Once
the troublesome infrastructure was stabilized then the
Return on Investment of this outsourcing move was
immediate, with significant monthly savings.
BlueRock continues to work closely with the Credit
Union's key decision makers to ensure that vital IT
infrastructure is upgraded and replaced on a regular
basis.
BlueRock ensures the selection and procurement of
appropriate assets - those with a known level of
reliability and capability. In addition BlueRock
continues to advise on the issues of Disaster Recovery
and risk management with regards to potential points of
failure. |
